What I did try (and for now, it's been a week) was when the event that won't dismiss comes up - I was double clicking the dismiss button. *~~I've experienced this a few times with a few different events, but it's not consistent so I don't know what causes it. I simply went to the date of the meeting mentioned in the conflict and deleted that occurrence. I re-read the conflict message and noted the date of the conflict was different from the reminders that wouldn't dismiss (it was the subsequent meetings). The conflict message was same and click Discard or Overwrite made no difference. I had 4 reminders that kept popping up - all for the same appt, all with different dates. I noticed that when I get the items that won't go away, when I double click the Dismiss button, I get a conflict notification in the bottom right - specifying another appt that requires discarding my change over overwriting the server with my change.

The double clicking Dismiss may have worked previously, but I think that was more a fluke.
